Ben Veach Junior Rock Club Scrapbook (1982-1987). This collection consists of a scrapbook titled How Montana Got Its State Fossil. The scrapbook contains news clippings, letters, photographs, and articles describing the efforts of the Ben Veach Junior Rock Club, Livingston Middle School, and others to pass legislation naming Maiasaura Peeblesorum as Montana's State fossil. Ben E. Veach was born December 12, 1921 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Charles (Ben) and Emma Veach. He served overseas in England during World War II as a soldier in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Upon his discharge he moved to Columbus, Mont. where he worked as a rancher. He and Donna M. Myers were married on September 23, 1946. In 1960 he began working for Industrial Towels at Billings and moved his family to Livingston for the company in 1968. He retired in 1981. Mr. Veach helped organize the Ben Veach Ju...
